Hurray! Congratulations to Dr. Miriam K Were for the recent addition of prizes and high recognitions for her dedicated service to Humanity in general, and Public Health in particular. I had the opportunity to Know and briefly work with her during her long years of service in Ethiopia at different capacities. We owe her a lot for her out standing contribution to the health and well being of the Ethiopian people. She deservs a much higher recognition and honour from the Ethiopian Government, which I hope will happen sooner than later. She has been a creative diplomat who gets things done swiftly with her charisma, talent and gifted leadership qualities to guide and mentor co-workers and professional colleagues. She has been and continues to be a great source of inspiration and hope.
I wish her plenty of blessings and long and happy life.
    Most sincerely,
    Elias Gebre-Egziabher, BSc, MPH,
